Why I’ve not been posting

 Hi friends and family.

The last six day for me have been pretty rough. By the time we got to the Chobe reserve I was not in good shape. Thankfully there was no evening drive on arrival day. The following day we did a full day with a morning boat tour and drive after lunch. That finished me entirely! The next morning Ralph went on the drive and after that we went into town to see a doctor. He said bronchitis and gave me an antibiotic. I took one in the afternoon and one before bed. No drives for me. Next morning another pill and at breakfast severe diarrhea…I won’t put you through the gory details but let’s just say I was sure I’d never be able to wear those pants again!

Ralph got a ride into town and got “depends” for me and we left for Victoria Falls. Took another pill before bed and at breakfast. I mention the meals as they were happening but I truly hadn’t eaten practically anything for 4 or 5 days. After breakfast, same diarrhea but “depends” held me together until we got the room. We asked for a doctor to come see me. He said that the antibiotics were too strong for me and prescribed a new one. As well, he said I was really dehydrated and wanted me to have an IV. I didn’t want that so I’ve gave me powder to add to water and told me to keep drinking it. He said to hold off on the antibiotic for a day to give my gut a rest. No touring of Victoria Falls for me but Ralph went. Photos to come for all the missing days. 

So we’re now in Johannesburg and fly to Cairo tomorrow evening. I just took my first new antibiotic…wish me luck!
