Fourth and last day at Malamala Reserve-additional photos

 Friday, September 6th,2024

Today I am somewhat recovered but not 100% so decided to see how I felt for the afternoon drive. The management here has been great in providing me a bowl of homemade chicken vegetable soup yesterday and today. They’ve also given me some meds that have helped me feel better. Below are a few photos from Ralph’s morning drive. I will post the second half of the day in another post.

Below is a photo of the group’s bush breakfast. Usually we have a muffin and coffee before the drive and come back for a full breakfast. Today they drove up to a table already prepared and were served breakfast.

This is our view from our sun deck. Animals walk by right beside our deck and we can also enjoy the ones in the distance. The last few nights there’s been an elephant that keeps coming through the camp because he likes bougainvillea flowers. They have chased him but he keeps coming back so last night the used a shotgun to sting his behind, not wound him. Hopefully that will do the trick!

On one of our drives we did a walk-about. We were heading back to the jeep when the driver saw a leopard kill a duiker, small antelope. We had to avoid getting to close to her. Once we got to the jeep we drove closer and she had dragged her kill up into the tree. The next day Ralph saw her with 3 cubs enjoying their kill.
