After we disembarked, we headed to Blenheim, dropped our stuff at the motel, and headed out for a drive and a little wine tasting. This is the Marlborough area and is where over 75% of New Zealand's wine is produced, especially Sauvignon Blanc.
This is the view over the fields at one of the wineries. Vines as far as the eyes can see, with the New Zealand Alps in the background.
This winery was a neat place and had a tall viewing tower where you could see for miles.
Truth be known, we have tried out many wines but we still can't tell the more expensive ones from the lesser. In fact, we've tried $50+ wine, but preferred the $20 bottles...so, I guess you could say we're cheap dates!!
