We left on Feb. 4th and headed out on the Interisland Ferry from Wellington to Picton. We were already booked into a motel in Blenheim.
This was our ferry with the cruise ship behind.
As we are heading through the islands outside of Picton, on the South Island, you could almost believe you were in the Gulf Islands back home!
This was another one of the companies ferries. They nearly ran over one of the tenders of another small cruise ship anchored outside Picton. The tender cut in front of the ferry, both heading out of port. The ferry blew its horn, and it still took the tender captain a long time to figure out he was in the way! Pretty scary for the passengers, I would think!
